Well Spring semester has started, and already I am buried in a pile of homework. :/
I have a novel, three textbooks, articles, lab manual, pre-lab and post-lab quizzes, and other little readings to do. It has only been two weeks since the semester started and I am already worn out. I can't wait for summer!
My Mizzou heart just broke a little. Mizzou was beaten very badly by Kansas tonight. We couldn't hit a shot to save our life. I just hope the rest of the season goes better, and that we get revenge in March!
I hope to update this thing more than I have been. School and life have gotten a little messy, so I am finding myself with not a lot of free time. Hopefully once the semester gets a good balance to it in homework and reading, I will be able to enjoy some free time. :)

Just a Ride....
I had another awesome weekend. :)
My wonderful boss, Reba, spoiled us workers this weekend. There is a small new boutique in Kansas City that is called Cupcake A La Mode. They specialize in cupcakes (hence the name). The cake part of the cupcake wasn't holey and greasy like most cupcakes that you make at home. These cupcakes had a consistency like pound cake. The icing on each one was gourmet, and very, very yummy. My favorites were the Hawaiian Honeymoon and the Raspberry Lemonade. :)
After we ate our cupcakes, Juli and I priced some new merchandise. We had a relatively slow day, so we got to catch up on some gossip, Grey's Anatomy watching, and entertainment news. Ashley, Reba's daughter, and her best friend, Kayla, had tea later on in the afternoon. We all caught up with each other about what is going on in our lives. It was such a wonderful afternoon.
Sunday my mom, sister and I visited my great-grandma. We talked about school and my apartment living. After wards, my mom treated my sister and I to some ice cream.
I realized that I have a lot of reading to do for this week. I have a quiz on Thursday, one either tomorrow or Thursday, and one on Wednesday. Ugh, is it Christmas break yet?

School: Week 2
It is already the second week of school. :/
This week I have a lot of reading to do. I believe that in every class that I have, I have at least one chapter to read in each of my textbooks. Now your probably wondering if I have read my assignments. Well here's your answer: not really. I did start my readings for my 'Writing in the Social Sciences' class yesterday, and am planning on finishing (hopefully) it this morning before class. I know that at night I have all the time in the world to read these things, but all I do is roam the internet. :P But other than that, things are going well.
Work this weekend was awesome. My boss, Reba, suprised me with a breakfast party. She made a breakfast casserole and an apricot creme cake. It was all sooo yummy. She then suprised me with a Vera Bradley pink teapot. It was soo cute! Then my co-workers suprised me with decorative stacking boxes that had presents in each box. Oh how I love the Shady Gables crew!
Well I better get on my reading.
Out.

School...Again...
Well, yesterday was the first day of classes. Where did my summer go?
I only had one class yesterday, Comparative Government and Politics. It sounds like it is going to be an interesting class, because we are going to study six regions of the world and compare some of the governments established in each of the regions. It also is going to be sort of a history class, because government is shaped by history. For example, when studying Russia, we are first going to learn about the U.S.S.R, and then learn about Russia's current government. I'm hoping that this class is going to be very informative.
I moved into my new apartment on Sunday. My mom, dad, grandma, and sister helped me move in, along with my roommie, Ashley and her boyfriend, Chris. Chris and my dad set up my bed, my mom built my desk chair, and Matty, grandma, and I moved all of my stuff from my car into the apartment. It was a busy day, because there was a ton of stuff that I needed to move in. At the end of the day, the hallway and kitchen was filled with empty boxes, and a lot of full tubs of kitchen essentials and clothes. But, I have had a blast ever since I moved in. :)
I was asked on Monday to be in one of my friend's wedding. I will be a bridesmaid! This is my first wedding where I will be a bridesmaid. I was a flower girl twice when I was little. Once for my dad's friend, Scott's wedding and the other time was for my dad's cousin, Tim's wedding. I am excited to try on fancy dresses and to get my hair all fancied up.
It has rained for the past four days here in Warrensburg. Luckily, it hasn't rained when I am walking to/from my car to class/work. But, it doesn't look like it is going to stop raining today. :/
I applied at numerous jobs here with no luck. I applied yesterday at a bank in Sedalia, so I am hoping that I get a call.

Summer Update!
Here's what's been going on this summer:
1.) My family and I took a small vacation to a resort down in the southern part of Missouri. It was nice to get away from everything, but where we went wasn't the idea vacation for us. Luckily, my mom is planning another vacation for next week. We are going to Springfield, IL to look at all of the Abraham Lincoln exhibits there.
2.) I have been shopping like crazy for my apartment. I just recently bought a new bed frame, mattress, and a new comforter. I'm realizing how much money it takes to get your own place.
3.) I got to see my best friend from St. Louis this past week! Melissa and I went to the Lake to do some shopping and catching up. We haven't seen each other in little over a year! :O
4.) My dad and I still haven't gone to a baseball game yet this summer. I'm hoping that we get to go to one before the season is over.
5.) My grandpa (my dad's dad) passed away in July. It was a very difficult time for my family, because it was so sudden. We have been trying our hardest to get on with life.
6.) School starts in two weeks. Yuck.
7.) We have been very busy at Shady Gables! We have been constantly booked all summer long. It has been a treat working there, because I just love seeing the smiling faces of new customers and our regular ladies who come for afternoon tea. They have such a good time!
8.) I'm thinking about taking a trip to Ireland during the summer of 2011. My former high school goes to someplace in Europe every two years. I went to Germany, Austria, and Hungary in the summer of 2007, and have been wanting to go back for years. The group just got back from a tour of Italy this past summer. My friends, Ashley and Chris, went and took 1000 pictures. She said that she is going to show them to me. I'm going to be so jealous looking at them. :P
9.) I've decided that I am going to take the next two weeks slow. There is going to be lazy days on the days I don't have to work or go somewhere (that includes today, tomorrow, and next Wednesday). But, one of those days I need to take my best friend out to lunch for her birthday.
10.) I got to see the Harry Potter movie last Sunday. It was so good, but at the same time, disappointing. They left out a lot of the plot from the book. :/
11.) I'm reading "Julie and Julia" by Julie Powell. It is such a good book. I can't wait for the movie to come out. (BTW, I found the Julie/Julia Project blog on the internet the other day. I was so excited!)
12.) Did I mention how much I dislike that school is approaching? Oh, yeah I did. Point #6. And, I say it again, Yuck.
I hope you all are having a great summer! :D

May Update
Wow. I realized that I haven't updated this thing in awhile! So..here it goes:
1.) It's finals week. Its a joyous and stressful at the same time.

5.) I really want to be at a beach right now. Why do I have to live in land-locked Missouri?
6.) I can't wait for summer! :D
7.) I'm so excited that Harry Potter comes out in July. I'm going to go see it with my friends (they just don't know it yet).
8.) Oh crap! I need to start packing up all of my junk in my dorm room! Check out is at 3 p.m. on Thursday! :O
9.) I have a total of four (maybe three) finals to take this week. Joy.
10.) I really want some Cold Stone ice cream right now....
