I had another awesome weekend. :)
My wonderful boss, Reba, spoiled us workers this weekend. There is a small new boutique in Kansas City that is called Cupcake A La Mode. They specialize in cupcakes (hence the name). The cake part of the cupcake wasn't holey and greasy like most cupcakes that you make at home. These cupcakes had a consistency like pound cake. The icing on each one was gourmet, and very, very yummy. My favorites were the Hawaiian Honeymoon and the Raspberry Lemonade. :)
After we ate our cupcakes, Juli and I priced some new merchandise. We had a relatively slow day, so we got to catch up on some gossip, Grey's Anatomy watching, and entertainment news. Ashley, Reba's daughter, and her best friend, Kayla, had tea later on in the afternoon. We all caught up with each other about what is going on in our lives. It was such a wonderful afternoon.
Sunday my mom, sister and I visited my great-grandma. We talked about school and my apartment living. After wards, my mom treated my sister and I to some ice cream.
I realized that I have a lot of reading to do for this week. I have a quiz on Thursday, one either tomorrow or Thursday, and one on Wednesday. Ugh, is it Christmas break yet?

School: Week 2
It is already the second week of school. :/
This week I have a lot of reading to do. I believe that in every class that I have, I have at least one chapter to read in each of my textbooks. Now your probably wondering if I have read my assignments. Well here's your answer: not really. I did start my readings for my 'Writing in the Social Sciences' class yesterday, and am planning on finishing (hopefully) it this morning before class. I know that at night I have all the time in the world to read these things, but all I do is roam the internet. :P But other than that, things are going well.
Work this weekend was awesome. My boss, Reba, suprised me with a breakfast party. She made a breakfast casserole and an apricot creme cake. It was all sooo yummy. She then suprised me with a Vera Bradley pink teapot. It was soo cute! Then my co-workers suprised me with decorative stacking boxes that had presents in each box. Oh how I love the Shady Gables crew!
Well I better get on my reading.
Out.

School...Again...
Well, yesterday was the first day of classes. Where did my summer go?
I only had one class yesterday, Comparative Government and Politics. It sounds like it is going to be an interesting class, because we are going to study six regions of the world and compare some of the governments established in each of the regions. It also is going to be sort of a history class, because government is shaped by history. For example, when studying Russia, we are first going to learn about the U.S.S.R, and then learn about Russia's current government. I'm hoping that this class is going to be very informative.
I moved into my new apartment on Sunday. My mom, dad, grandma, and sister helped me move in, along with my roommie, Ashley and her boyfriend, Chris. Chris and my dad set up my bed, my mom built my desk chair, and Matty, grandma, and I moved all of my stuff from my car into the apartment. It was a busy day, because there was a ton of stuff that I needed to move in. At the end of the day, the hallway and kitchen was filled with empty boxes, and a lot of full tubs of kitchen essentials and clothes. But, I have had a blast ever since I moved in. :)
I was asked on Monday to be in one of my friend's wedding. I will be a bridesmaid! This is my first wedding where I will be a bridesmaid. I was a flower girl twice when I was little. Once for my dad's friend, Scott's wedding and the other time was for my dad's cousin, Tim's wedding. I am excited to try on fancy dresses and to get my hair all fancied up.
It has rained for the past four days here in Warrensburg. Luckily, it hasn't rained when I am walking to/from my car to class/work. But, it doesn't look like it is going to stop raining today. :/
I applied at numerous jobs here with no luck. I applied yesterday at a bank in Sedalia, so I am hoping that I get a call.

WHY ME?
I am not having a good weekend.
Yesterday, I found out that my history test is now going to be on Wednesday, instead of Monday. You would think that I would be happy, but I'm not. Because on Wednesday, I have a state government test that I need to study my butt off for. So now since my history test has been moved, it has hindered my studying plan. I am not happy about this. :(
My roomie has been driving me insane this week. I mean, literately insane. The girl will NOT STOP TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE!!!! I swear, the thing is plastered to her ear. You would think that talking on a phone that much would get old, but apparently it doesn't. I had to tell her to be quiet the other night, just so I could get some work done. You would think that somebody would think to be curteous to their roommate. Well, she's not. When she talks on the phone, she doesn't whisper. No, she talks REALLY LOUD. It is really starting to make me mad. But, I keep on reminding myself....four more weeks.
To go along with the roommie...my stupid suitemates were being really loud this week. I have no idea what they were doing for the past two nights, but it was really loud. They were stomping in their room and were making my floor vibrate. Remember, Amber....just four more weeks.
I almost got into a car wreck on Friday. I swear, I am never going through that stoplight in Warrensburg again. :(
Work went okay today. We had about 38 people, and I got $11 in tips. Not to shabby. :)
But, my Mizzou Tigers lost in the Elite Eight today. This loss ends their historical season, in which their record was 31-7. Their record is historical, because they hold the school record for the most wins in a season. This is impressive because this is the same team that had a record of 16-16 last year, with no NCAA Tournament appearance. They were the same team that lost in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. But look at them now. They are Big 12 Tournament Champions, they finished 3rd in the conference, put a whopping 102 points on a Memphis team that only allows 50 points a game, and made it to the Elite Eight of the Tourament. My hats are off to you guys! You made us all proud to be a Tiger fan! :D
I'm trying to get my speech written that I need to present on Thursday. It's being difficult at the moment, because it is a persuasive speech on voting. I hope to get it done tomorrow, so I have enough time to study for my tests this next week. So, wish me luck. :P
Well, that's an update in Amber's world. :)

Ramblings....
I did get half of my assignment done last night, even in the storm. I just need to pin-point a city to create a new NBA team at. Fun.
I want to get this assignment done before I go back to school. I just want to get it out of my hair so that I can breathe next week. I have a feeling that the first couple of days will be rough, since my professors will want us to get back into the groove of things at school. :(
But, I just have to remember....only 1 1/2 months left for the semester! :D
